Connor Moen
Connor has always had a deep connection to music. His parents wanted their children to have music in their lives and started them on piano lessons at age 5. Connor joined the middle school band on piano, but quickly learned other instruments including clarinet, drums, and guitar. Throughout high school Connor immersed himself in music. He was part of the symphonic ensemble, marching band, drum corps, jazz band, community band, and small ensembles. Connor was awarded the "Quincy Jones Award for Musicianship" his senior year.
Wanting to turn his passion for music into a full time career, he enrolled at University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music in 2010. Connor continued to develop a wide breadth of knowledge of everything music. At any one time, you could see Connor performing bass clarinet with the symphonic wind ensemble, managing the sound at the Take 5 Jazz Club, premiering a new composition of his, playing ukulele at the acoustic show, or recording in the studio. Connor graduated from University of the Pacific with a BM Music Composition and a minor in Music Management in 2014.
The following year, Connor was invited to teach MCOM 009: Introduction to Music Technology and MMGT 009: Musical Elements for University of the Pacific. Over the next three years, Connor fell in love with teaching. To develop his craft further and better serve his students with emerging technologies, he applied and was accepted to Berklee College of Music for their Masters program in Music Production, Technology, and Innovation.
At Berklee's Valencia Campus, Connor learned audio engineering and sound design for media from leading industry professionals. Studying in Spain with musicians from around the world taught Connor how to engineer a large diversity of genres and projects.
Connor graduated with his Master's Degree, magna cum laude, in 2019. Afterwards he returned to the California Bay Area. Currently, Connor teaches music at Fusion Academy in San Mateo.
